BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF PADMABHUSHAN GURRAM JASHUVA

On 28-09-2022, the 127th birth anniversary celebrations were observed. Dr. P. Srinivasa Rao, Principal, said that he championed the cause of the disadvantaged ones. He voiced his feelings against the social follies of his times. He added that social reformation is the bedrock of his writings. He stood for the cause of the hunger prone and marginalized. He fought against the dogmas and religious fanaticism. His writings sprang out of caste disparities and social stigma. His life and works are inspirational to the youth. The Chief Guest, Dr. K. Sudhakar, Lecturer in telugu, Government Arts College (A), Rajamundry, observed that though born in a dalit family, he rose to the dazzling glorious poetic heights and is fondly called th Navayuga Kavi Chakravarthi. He, with his mighty pen, waged a war against the fundamentalists and emancipated down trodden to the respectable stature. He has touched upon every possible subject in his poetry which includes poverty, destituteness, plight of women, hyphenated lives etc. Vice-Principal, Mr. N.J.K. Narendra Kumar, felt that his writings are highly inspirational and enterprising. Dr. G. Srinivas, Head, Department of Telugu, opined that he never felt diffident in his life at any cost. Despite all adverse conditions, he elevated himself to new literary heights that no literary artist has scaled ever. Dr. B. Saraswathi, Lecturer in Telugu, said that he suffered a lot to prove himself in his personal and professional life but soar to unimaginable heights with his creative endeavour. Dr. Md. Amzad Ali, Physical Director, said that at least one should be educated in every family, only Then, the family will grow. Dr. Syed Mir Hassim, Director, IQAC, other members of staff and students partook in the grand event conducted.
