Student seminars organized by Department of Botany on the topic of PHYTOGEOGRAPHIC Regions are known as botanical zones. Vegetation is determined by biotic, climatic factor and geological conditions. Chatterjee(1962) divided India's vegetation into 9 botanical zones the nine botanical zones are: 1.Western Himalayas 2.Eastren Himalayas 3.Indus plain 4.Gangetic plain 5.Central India 6.Deccan 7.Westren coasts of Malabar 8.Assam and 9. Islands of Andaman Nicobar. Three Students participated in this event.
