WORLD MALARIA DAY
Department of Zoology observed World Malaria Day on 25th April. Theme of WMD 2022 "Harness innovation to reduce the Malaria disease burden and save lives" Malaria disease caused by Plasmodium vivax (parasite) is spread to humans through bite of an infected Female Anopheles Mosquito. It can be life threatening if not treated on time although it is very much presentable and curable. A person infected by Malaria parasite would start symptoms in 10-15 days of infection. Though it's infection possible that the parasite remain dormant for up to one year.
Symptoms: Fever, chills, headache, nausea, vamiting, fatigue, abdominal pain, rapid breathing and cough.
