Differential Equations – A Broad View

 In order to apply mathematical methods to a physical or “real life” problem, we must construct a mathematical model for the problem. Many physical problems concern relationships between changing quantities. Since rates of change are represented mathematically by derivatives, mathematical models often involve equations relating an unknown function and one or more of its derivatives. Thus differential equations have their own significance in our daily life. Hence a student must need a complete idea, to apply his knowledge to solve the problems raised in daily life. Keeping this in mind, the department of mathematics arranged a lecture by Sri Hussain Sharieff, Lecturer in Mathematics, S.R.G Degree College, Kanumolu, Krishna. Dist on 23^rd February 2022 @ 10.00am on “Differential Equations – a broad view”. He has 17 years of experience in teaching differential equations.

The Vice Principal Sri.N.J.K.Narendra Kumar garu precided over the program With a brief introduction of the guest the program was started. The guest delivered his talk about 90 minutes. In his lecture he explained which model is used for solving a particular problem with few examples such as “modelling population growth – assuming that the population grows continuously rather than in discrete steps”. He also explained the importance of partial differential equations in various fields.

All the first year students attended the lecture, and hope every student got a clear Idea about broad view of differential equations. Definitely this lecture motivates the students toward higher studies in mathematics as well as research.
